Accreditation criteria

Media accreditation for the MSC is reserved for journalists (print, online, radio and television) and photographers. To apply for media accreditation, you must meet the following criteria:

You are employed by a bona fide media organization[1] and journalism is your main source of income - to be proven by an official/valid press card and/or a letter of recommendation from your employer

…or…

You report for a bona fide media organization on a freelance basis on security, economic or foreign policy issues - to be proven by an official/valid press card and/or a letter of recommendation from your employer.

For security reasons, all media representatives must agree to undergo a police background check.

We would like to point out that the presentation of a press card alone is not a basis for accreditation. We reserve the right to request further proof of journalistic activity in accordance with the above points.

Can my application be rejected even though I meet the criteria and have submitted all the required documents?

Please note that there is a high demand for participation in the MSC, but working space at the press center is limited and that strict safety regulations are in place. Under consideration of these circumstances, restrictions to the number of accredited journalists to the MSC 2025 are inevitable. Therefore, we ask for your understanding that the MSC might refuse accreditation requests in exceptional cases, by taking into account the best possible balance of professional expertise and geographical representation. There is no legal entitlement to accreditation.

Please also note that the MSC reserves the right to withdraw media accreditation from journalists whose behavior disrupts the smooth running of the conference or who fail to follow the instructions of security personnel or MSC staff.

Background for a possible non-accreditation: The MSC strives to achieve the broadest possible international media coverage and professional perception in the field of foreign, security or economic policy within the framework of the conference, as well as to offer media representatives optimal working conditions during the conference. However, we must do justice to the limited spatial capacities of the media center as well as strict compliance with fire police regulations. In view of these circumstances, we ask for your understanding that in exceptional cases we may have to limit the number of accreditations per medium.
