Munich Security Conference 2021

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, no regular Munich Security Conference could be held in 2021. Nevertheless, the MSC organized the MSC Special Edition 2021 at the traditional date of the conference in February and was once more at the center of international diplomacy. Over the course of the year, several smaller and high-ranking events will prepare the ground for the 58th Munich Security Conference currently planned for February 2022 under the title “Road to Munich”.

On February 19, 2021, the MSC Special Edition assembled some of the world’s most senior decision-makers for a TV broadcast, which marked the 57th Munich Security Conference. This TV production marked the beginning of the "Road to Munich", including a number of virtual high-level events that prepare the ground for the 58th Munich Security Conference in 2022, focusing on a renewal of transatlantic relations, as well as common foreign and security policy challenges that require close transatlantic cooperation.
